 Annually, the Conference of the Parties (COP) provides a forum for nations to coordinate efforts to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations "at a level that would preclude hazardous anthropogenic (human-induced) interference with the climate system".   COP27 It has been the hottest period on record over the last seven years. Global lockdowns temporarily reduced greenhouse gas emissions, but rates have recovered to pre-pandemic levels since then. The Conference of the Parties conference (COP27) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2022 has the highest possible stakes.
